Let your suffering create compassion and mercy. Otherwise, it will make you petty and small and full of bitterness. You will become selfish and think only of your own suffering. This is how suffering masters you. So pick up your cross today and carry it with a heart of love, not a heart of bitterness or defeat.
Let your suffering lead from strength to strength, from grace to grace, from glory to glory. This is how you know you are mastering suffering by the way of the Cross. So lift up your head. Walk not as children of the world. But rejoice. You are partakers in my suffering.
In the furnace, I will walk with you. When you pass through the flames, they will not burn you. For my rod and staff will comfort you. Fight for the love of your family. They need you here. There still may be hope. This may not be the end. So let love define your suffering. Be compassionate. Victory lies within.
